There are two kinds of people in this world: those who go out on Thursday nights and those who don’t. I am of the breed who stay in on Thurday nights. It’s not like I have a choice. Thursdays are when professors decide to hold exams, make homework and assignments due, and assign the weekend workload! So, staying out late and missing (physically or mentally) a Friday is shooting yourself in the foot. In fact, the reason I am up at this moment of 2:38am is because I have an exam, a quiz, and a homework assignment due tomorrow morning and I can’t sleep! (I worry about things like people going out on Thursday nights when I can’t sleep apparently!)
Purdue’s school of business doesn’t even hold class on Friday. Maybe that’s why going out on Thursday night is such a big deal here. “How can a school not hold class on Friday” you may ask? On Friday, when everyone else was sleeping in, a computer scientist was hired to write the scheduling algorithm to enable class-less Fridays!
I’m hoping that venting this will allow me to sleep.
