Arch Linux just replaced the old hpijs HP Deskjet printer drivers with the new hplip HP All-in-One printer drivers and I’m quite annoyed. The package is much bigger and required a ton of extra dependancies that I don’t want or need like qt and pyqt. So I just spent some time going through the package and seeing which deps were optional. For printing to work I need to explicitly install (hplip, foomatic-db-engine, net-snmp) and all the other huge deps are not needed (thank God).
