I’ve found two great resources for Linux development. The first being a new GNOME Journal article titled “Through The Looking Glass” by Davyd Madeley. The article is a review of the book Linux Kernel Development, 2nd Ed by the senior Linux developer Robert Love. After reading the article I’ve really been given a new boost of confidence that maybe I could start with a few simple driver modules for the kernel or something. Now I’m dieing to go get the book and get my hands dirty.
The development resource I’ve come across is a D-Bus tutorial by Havoc Pennington, David Wheeler, and John Palmieri. It’s a great start to finish guide that could easily get a beginner working with D-Bus (potentially me) in no time. Hopefully this will spark some interest back into my dead Seedpod project.
